B 183 Week 10

The concept I enjoyed the most in this week’s reading was to be careful who you take on the journey with you. The readings and videos emphasized many characteristics of a desirable companion; loyal, not afraid to share their true thoughts, honest, diligent, and willing to stand by your side no matter what.

I have been very fortunate to find just that type of companion in my husband. We balance each other in almost every way. We are also very different but complement each other well. I think it is important to recognize that these kinds of partnerships do not just happen and maintain themselves. We need to nurture our valued relationships every single day.

Trust is key to any strong relationship. When money comes into play this is even more relevant. My husband’s family has a very unique business situation. There are 10 owners within two generations. They each have their niche but they also work together. The owners take only what money they need to out of the businesses. The unique thing with them is that they never check to see who is taking out what money. They trust each other completely.

In watching this family business for over 20 years, I believe that trust is the key factor for their success. They have also chosen their business partners well. Great lessons this week!
